Martin Schindler qualifies for two major events!

Published on: 06 November 2018

Yesterday, two important tournaments were played in Wigan; The PDC Youth World Cup 2018 and the Grand Slam of Darts Qualifiers.
Justin van Tergouw was one of the Dutchmen who performed in the PDC Youth Would Cup 2018. Sadly Justin was obviously having a bad day, where he –after 2 victories- lost to the Englishman Jarred Cole with 6-3.
Who did have a fantastic day, was brand new Bull’s NL player Martin Schindler! The German managed to, in order, push aside Rhys Hayden (6-0), Bradley Kirk (6-4), Geert Neentjes (6-0) and Callan Rydz (6-3). With this performance he reached the final, which will be played on November 25th at the Players Championship Finals. His opponent in this match is the strong defending champion; Belgian Dimitri van den Bergh. This is definitely going to be a fantastic match between two exceptional talents.
As said, the Grand Slam of Darts Qualifiers was also on the program. This was the final chance for the PDC-tourcard holders to qualify for the Grand Slam of Darts, a tournament in which both PDC and BDO play. In a sheet of 128 players, the final 8 qualify for this prestigious tournament. Sadly, Bull’s NL player Dirk van Duijvenbode lost in the final 32 from the Polish Tytus Kanik with 5-1. Martin Schinlder, on the other hand, could not be stopped, and won games against Jamie Lewis and Jan Dekker among others. This means that he’s now qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts, as is another Bull’s NL player; Max Hopp. A fantastic achievement. Especially considering he reached another goal earlier that day by making it to the finals of the PDC Youth World Championship.
What makes this achievement extra special, is that Martin Schindler played these matches with the finalized version of his new darts, which will become available on the market at the end of the month. These darts with laser grip have been designed for Martin and will be launched in multiple weights. We’ll keep you posted!
