Published on: 05 September 2017

Last Thursday night, the 31st of August, was the night of the Dutch Dart Masters qualifiers. It was event 9 of the Euro Tour, played at the MECC in Maastricht, Holland.

Bull’s NL player Justin van Tergouw played Rick Hofstra in the first round of the qualifiers. The experienced Frisian was expected to be a tough opponent, which he proved during the game. However, Justin proceeded to win the exciting match 6-5!

In the second Justin played Willy van de Wiel, who reached the final of the Dutch Open in 2009. Van de Wiel managed to give Justin a hard time, but the Dutch youngster won the game 6-4! An impressive result against former Lakeside player van de Wiel.

The third and final qualifiers round brought Justin up against Vincent van der Voort, one of Holland’s finest. He brings a lot of experience and class to the board, often accompanied by rocketing scores and finishes. This wasn’t however Vincent’s best night of darts. Justin dominated the game from the start, which resulted in a 6-2 win for the Bull’s NL player from Utrecht. With this streak of wins Justin qualified for the main event; the Dutch Dart Masters!

On Friday afternoon; Justin played World Champion Christian Kist in the first round. Christian had also managed to reach the main event through the qualifiers so this match promised to be a thriller. And a thriller it was! Both Justin and Christian were at each other’s throats, with both players breaking throw a lot. Justin was up 5-4 when Christian managed to break throw once more and proceeded to hold his throw to win 6-5.

Despite the elimination in the first round, Justin performed splendidly in Maastricht, managing to reach the main event as a 17-year old in a strong field of experienced darts players. Justin has shown that he already can match the level of play of these guys!
Bull’s NL kept track of all of Justin’s result and is proud that Justin is a part of the Bull’s NL team. Good luck to you in upcoming events Justin!!
