Dirk van Duijvenbode performs well in Barnsley!
Published on: 15 April 2019
Dirk demonstrated his brilliant form again last Friday April 12 in Barnsley, where he qualified for the Austrian Darts Open! This event is part of the European Tour and will be played in Austria from May 3rd to 5th.
This was a qualification tournament for European tour card holders from “non-UK countries”. With just 100+ averages and even an average of 105.7 he consecutively beat Spaniard Cristo Reyes 6-3, Finnish player Marko Kantele 6-1 and Polish player Krzysztof Ratajski 6-2. An excellent performance, as a result of which, like fellow Dutch players Raymond van Barneveld and Jeffrey de Zwaan, he can book a ticket for Austria.
Saturday April 13th and Sunday April 14th, Barnsley was also stage for Players Championships 11 and 12. On Saturday Dirk unfortunately did not achieve an appealing result, but on Sunday Dirk successively beat the experienced Englishman Wayne Jones 6-4 and even –with an average of 104.2! – World’s number 4 Peter Wright 6-3, before he unfortunately got beaten by John Henderson.
All positive results that give a good feeling for the coming period!
