Bull’s NL player Max Hopp writes darting history in his own country!

Published on: 16 April 2018

Max Hopp surprised the world of darts yesterday by winning the German Darts Open. This tournament is one of the PDC Europe Tour tournaments and was played from April 13th to the 15th in Saarbrücken in Germany.
The 21-year old, after winning three matches in the qualifiers, reached the main tournament in which he defeated Zoran Lerchbacher, Peter Wright, Benito van de Pas, Joe Cullen, Rob Cross and Michael Smith. Many of the matches were classic nail biters, in which the German crowd went absolutely crazy about their local favourite. Especially the matches to Rob Cross and Michael Smith were classic Thrillers that went all the way. Max showed his ability to keep his nerves by finishing 121 on the Bulls-eye in both deciders. Also, both these final legs were 12-dart breaks of throw! After the final dart Max celebrated the biggest victory of his career with the crowd.
By being the first German player to ever win a senior PDC event, Max will probably increase the popularity of darts in Germany greatly!
Max has shown his great potential this weekend, making his sponsor Bull’s NL incredibly proud! We’d like to congratulate Max with this incredible performance and hope this is just the beginning of a wonderful career in Darts!
